NEW CAR  APPEARANCE CARE

Every car manual has a section devoted to cleaning, appearance care and maintenance. It involves paint care, upholstery care, trim/glass care, leather and other surfaces. A properly maintained car can look new for many years.  For some cars, professional detailing every 3-6 months is sufficient to maintain the interior and paint. This is on top of regular washing and interior cleaning.

SWIRL AND LIGHT SCRATCH REMOVAL

For dark colour paints, light scratches or swirls are more visible. Removal of these paint defects requires the services of a professional detailer. Due to the variety of paint finishes, special compounds and tools are needed to remove them safely.

OLDER CARS / PRESALES — SURFACE RECONDITIONING

Most old cars can be detailed to restore its appearance. Various techniques  and detailing products are available to enhance various surfaces. Sometimes all that is needed is a thorough cleaning and appropriate surface coating.

SCRATCH REMOVAL OR REPAIR

Scratches come in many forms such as surface scratches, deep scratches or corroded scratches. The location, size, colour and depth of the scratch are the deciding factors when selecting which type of repair is applicable.

SURFACE ENHANCEMENT

Alloy, chrome, paints, headlights, lenses, stainless steel and other surfaces can be polished, enhanced and protected. Wheels, lights, trims, dash and body paint can be enhanced in order to improve their appearance while providing protection. Some sealants and protectants have good water-beading and repelling properties for easier cleaning.

INTERIOR PROTECTION

Car interior needs protection from ultraviolet rays and liquid spills. For UV rays, the most common forms of protection are dash mat and window tinting. For liquid spills, there are a wide range of fabric and carpet protection products.

PAINT PROTECTION — DOES YOUR CAR NEED IT?

Many car owners ask this question: Does my car need paint protection? The straight answer is written in your car Owner’s Manual. Most car manuals have a section forAppearance Care that normally recommends regular waxing and polishing as part of paint maintenance. Paint protection comes in many forms ranging from the well tested carnauba wax, polymers, to “space-age” coatings. In many cases the deciding factor is cost and practicality. A good garage combined with regular waxing using premium waxes can maintain the paint for many years. For paint protection we use a variety of long-lasting sealants and coatings with excellent shine and protection.

ALLOY/MAG-WHEELS PROTECTION

Wheels need regular cleaning. For better protection, a wheel wax can be applied in order to prevent brake dusts from staining the wheel coating or paint.

PAINT MAINTENANCE FOR HARD PAINTS — PRESTIGE CARS

Some prestige cars (such as Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Ford, etc) are coated with harder paints compared to standard clear coats. These types of top coats are either called Ceramic Clear Coat, Scratch-Resistant Coating or  high solid paints. For paint corrections and swirl removal, conventional polishes are unable to  polish or cut through these paints, therefore requiring special compounds. For protection, these paints are hard enough and may only require premium waxes recommended by the manufacturer.

PAINT CUT&POLISH

A professional cut&polish is normally 2 or 3 steps depending on the condition of the paint and the required finish. A machine cut and machine polish is recommended for top quality paint reconditioning. Some cars only require one-step machine polishing then followed by hand finishing/waxing.

INTERIOR SHAMPOOING

This is one of the most common professional detailing services. An average car would require half a day to detail the whole interior properly, even with the aid of cleaning equipment.
